The Americas Society is an organization dedicated to education, debate, and dialogue in the Americas; established in 1965 by David Rockefeller.[1] The Americas Society promotes the understanding of the economic, political, and cultural issues that define and challenge the Americas today, including everywhere from the Arctic Circle to the southernmost tip of Argentina.[2]
The Americas Society, together with Council of the Americas, produces the publication Americas Quarterly, a policy journal for the Western Hemisphere.
The Americas Society also produces the MetLife Music of the Americas concert series to showcase the diversity of styles and genres of music in the Americas. The concert series is free and open to the public, and is held at the Society’s headquarters on Park Avenue.
The society has its New York headquarters in the former Percy Rivington Pyne House.
